getting it is one thing, i know plenty of people who get it. plenty. knowing where you want to be doesn't mean anything if you're not actually walking (running!) on the path to get there.
It should be 10x faster to iterate with software than hardware. Which means two things: software firms that are not iterating rapidly have no excuse; and HW companies should be iterating more with software.
Just be ageist : I was the youngest person at the Symbian Partners Event. I'm 37, which isn't all that young. Where are the next generation of Nokians?
@jyri: totally agreeing wit this. SW != HW; as simple as that. With SW you can do things you couldn't do with HW (like fixing bugs while the customer is trying the product out - I've done some UI work like this (and only with customer as the thing wasn't planed to be released to wild nature) )

talking to Nokia about innovation is like talking to a puppy about the Cuban missile crisis

@constantine: I'll also say that rather many people work in innovative way. It's just all lost in mass.

does NOK realize "the power of software" (Bill Gates quote)? too early to answer that question.

the partners event was a b2b thing, of course the older business folks are there. there are plenty of under 30 nokia people.
