moible.google.com is pretty clever when handling a Nokia E90. After the software installed, it activated the phone's GPS and put me on the map. I didn't know the GPS would see my location through my snow-covered roof.
how did you enter your username? I entered y app premium account but it picked up the gmail account that email address is also tied to, so then it is picking up the contacts from that rarely used gmail account
looking forward to messing about with this - so far looks nice. will be better when friends start to use it :)
one thing about friendview was that i didnt really care too much to see where my friends are - thats not all that important - the conversation is, friendview was pretty to look at but was essentially useless.
sounds interesting and the screenshot looked like an almost direct rip-off of FriendView.
Be interesting to see how much more traction this gets than things like FriendView and Buddycloud. Will also be interesting to see if just how much data all those pretty maps consume (operators must LOVE google for all that data)
@crucially: no, it's not part of the Apps Suite. However, the contacts that I have to choose from in the Latitude S60 app is definitely part of my Apps Contacts. And my invitations to colleagues with the same kind of setup have worked. (Yes, the Google Account vs Gmail Account vs Apps Account is a but confusing... :)
@gerrymoth yep I 1st I dont know that I can login with my Google apps account, so I logged in with gmail account and now E71 with Google apps account and N95 with gmail account
I've found a way of getting Latitude to work on my PC and iGoogle. Go to http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en as the .co.uk equivalent doesn't work at the moment.

The greatest thing to come out of the last 2 years is Social Networking. The natural derivative of this is that people have to be more honest to each other because there's plenty of ways to verify the truth.

Us spoiled brats are weeping for the lack of an iPhone app. Please Mister Google, throw us a bone.

my status message is from my gtalk status
9 months, 3 weeks ago by arjun
and are you sure it isn't picking up your associated google account?
9 months, 3 weeks ago by crucially
ie, if someone sends your email address an invite, does it work :)

@gerrymoth did you accept an invite from someone twice, once from their Google Apps, and then another time from their personal Gmail account?
9 months, 3 weeks ago by jyri
@rsellberg it's no secret I'd like all status message services to interoperate...
9 months, 3 weeks ago by jyri
I try to'Get Directions' for contacts in Google Latitude an it says no route found. This sucks.
9 months, 3 weeks ago by gerrymoth
@jyri I'm seeing Arjun twice as I added his gmail account and he added me from his google apps account.
9 months, 3 weeks ago by gerrymoth
Okay I had a play around and the routing isn't working with My Location
9 months, 3 weeks ago by gerrymoth
No routes for me either as its not available in india yet

How do you add a mobile number to Google Apps? just saw someone from the UK had there mobile number showing in Google Latitude.
9 months, 3 weeks ago by gerrymoth
@gerrymoth which country are you in?
9 months, 3 weeks ago by jyri
@jyri does standard Google apps account has access to google profiles?
9 months, 3 weeks ago by arjun
@jyri I'm in the UK. I noticed if I change my Start Point from 'My Location' to a proper address the routing works.
9 months, 3 weeks ago by gerrymoth
The Google Profile is for your personal Google account at the moment
9 months, 3 weeks ago by jyri
Sweet. This might also answer a few open questions related to Jaiku ;)

Will evolution stamp out mating between Latitude and Jaiku?

I can't see anyway of removing a firend once he or she has been accepted. I know you can hide from them, but would be nice to totally remove?

very interesting, cheers for the add @gerry

If Latitude could feed the location into Fire Eagle that'd be great. I guess the chances of that happening are low though so I won't hold my breath

Latitude has elegant ways to engage, cloak, stalk and share location data. And the views it shows of searchable info is quite interesting.

@crucially & co. this link explains usage of Latitude on Google Apps accounts. Let me know if it should be improved -- the ConOps team is open to feedback. http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=136641&topic=20070
