You know I don't think I ever realised you were from france! It's hard to tell from that placemark on the tiny map, but it's looks like you're close enough to Nevers and Vierzon? It was years ago that I was over there, but loved it. Friend of mine's parent's own a chateaux somewhere either south or east of Nevers, can't remember the name of the region though.. I was there for a party, and then visited a friend in Vierzon after.
When I check availability it reports that all my choices for a profile URL are not available. Yet when I try to visit the URL and see who it is that has the profile I wanted, I get a 404 error.
@claes: That's what it does "you can customize your URL with your Google email username". Mine is http://www.google.com/profiles/PaulaMarttila The cool thing is that you can capitalize and remove dots, it redirects back to your "original" address.
@mjohnson it seems that what you reported is expected behavior. The usernames you attempted are already claimed by other gmail users, but those users have not published a Google profile.
@jyri I think it would be good to have the option to add a tab to your profile which displays your shared items.
Oh, and I know Google are all about sparse and minimal, but even within those bounds I think design could be improved. There's a lot of random floating sections with and with a small bit of tweaking the typography could make the page much quicker to digest.
@alexleonard I weren't accuratelly localised on the map actually. I forgot to put "Paris" in the where I am field. So it pointed by default to the middle of the country, I guess. :D

chi.mp seems like an interesting idea, but I really have only just signed up and not explored it much. Also picked up my alexleonard.tel but again, not really sure how useful that will be right now.
